Rita
Mendonça Leite é licenciada em História pela
Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa (2004). Na mesma instituição
concluiu, em 2007, o Mestrado em História Contemporânea em torno das Representações do Protestantismo na
Sociedade Portuguesa Contemporânea: da exclusão à liberdade de culto
(1852-1911); e, em 2017, o Doutoramento em História, na Especialidade de História
e Cultura das Religiões, com a tese: Texto e Autoridade. Diversificação sociocultural e religiosa com a
Sociedade Bíblica em Portugal (1804-1940), recentemente publicada pela Imprensa
Nacional - Casa da Moeda. Recebeu, em 2008, a Menção Honrosa do «Prémio Victor
de Sá de História Contemporânea» e venceu, em 2017, o «Prémio Liberdade
Religiosa». É investigadora integrada do Centro de Estudos de História Religiosa
da Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP-CEHR), colaboradora do Centro de
História da Universidade de Lisboa (CH-ULisboa) e membro da Association Française d'Histoire Religieuse
Contemporaine (AFHRC) e da Sociedade Portuguesa da História do
Protestantismo (SPHP). É Professora Auxiliar Convidada na Faculdade de Teologia
da UCP desde 2016. É atualmente diretora-adjunta do UCP-CEHR e membro do
Conselho Editorial da revista Lusitania
Sacra.
Rita Mendonça Leite got her degree in
History from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon
(2004), where she also concluded, in 2007, her Masters Degree in Contemporary
History under the theme "Representations of the Protestantism in the Portuguese
Contemporary Society: from exclusion to religious freedom (1852-1911)"; and, in
2017, her PhD Degree in History and Culture of Religions, with the Thesis "Text
and Authority. Sociocultural and religious diversification with the Bible Society
in Portugal (1804-1940)", recently published by Imprensa Nacional-Casa da Moeda.
She has been recognized with a Merit Award from the "Victor de Sá Award in
Contemporary History" in 2008; and with the First Prize of the "Prémio
Liberdade Religiosa" in 2017. She is an
integrated researcher of the Centro de Estudos de História Religiosa -
Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP-CEHR); a colaborator researcher of the
Centro de História - Universidade de Lisboa (CH-ULisboa); and a member of the
Association Française d'Histoire Religieuse Contemporaine (AFHRC) and of the
Sociedade Portuguesa da História do Protestantismo (SPHP). She is currently Deputy
Director of UCP-CEHR and a member of the Editorial Board of Lusitania Sacra.
