Carlos Fernando Teixeira Alves é licenciado e mestre em
História pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra (FLUC). Em 2016,
como bolseiro de doutoramento da FCT PD/BD/128127/2016, iniciou o doutoramento
no Programa Interuniversitário de Doutoramento em História: mudança e
continuidade num mundo global (PIUDHist) no Instituto de Ciências Sociais da
Universidade de Lisboa (ICS-UL), com uma tese intitulada, "A Ordem Natural nas
reformas universitárias de Salamanca e Coimbra (1769-1820)". Foi investigador
visitante no Instituto Figuerola de História Y Ciencias Sociales da
Universidade Carlos III de Madrid (2019). Atualmente é investigador no
Projeto Franciscan Landscapes: the observance between Italy, Portugal and
Spain (UCP-CEHR jPICH/0003/2019), do Centro de Estudos de História
Religiosa (UCP-CEHR). As suas publicações mais recentes refletem sobre a História
das Universidades, História do Ensino, História da Ciência, mas também História
Religiosa, Medieval e Moderna.

Alves has a degree and a master's degree in History from the Faculty of Arts of
the University of Coimbra (FLUC). In 2016, as a doctoral fellow of FCT
PD/BD/128127/2016, he started his PhD in the Interuniversity PhD Program in
History: change and continuity in a global world (PIUDHist) at the Institute of
Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon (ICS-UL), with a thesis entitled,
"The Natural Order in the university reforms of Salamanca and Coimbra
(1769-1820)". He was a visiting researcher at the Instituto Figuerola de
Historia Y Ciencias Sociales at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (2019). Is currently a researcher in the Project Franciscan Landscapes: the observance
between Italy, Portugal and Spain (UCP-CEHR jPICH/0003/2019), of the Center for
the Study of Religious History (UCP-CEHR). His most recent publications reflect
on the History of Universities, History of Teaching, History of Science, but
also Religious, Medieval and Modern History.
